Purpose: To create an on-line entity-oriented link collection in Radiology

Materials and methods: The most often listed and popular on-line programs in Radiology were determined by:

• checking about 1000 homepages of international radiological institutes
• inquiries to international mailing lists
• asking about 100 medical students and residents in Radiology.

The most favorite programs were subdivided in on-line textbooks, manuals in investigative methods in Radiology, ACR-Code lists, differential diagnostic programs and assessment programs in at least two languages. The 100 most important entities in Radiology were linked to referring locations in every program. An example may be seen at URL: http://www.idr.uni-erlangen/entity_link_list.htm. Results: Medical students as well as residents in radiology and radiologists appreciate the Entity-Link-List as a time-saving pre-selection within thousands of on-line programs in Radiology. The entity-oriented list is a perfect start up program in Radiology to compare different on-line offers and to find the individual favorite programs in Radiology. Conclusion: The on-line Entity-Link-List represents a useful contribution to the Internet in Radiology, yet must be extended according to entities and programs as well as updated regularly
